10 Intriguing Star Wars Rogue One Trailer Moments That Weren't In The Movie

9. Saw's (Other) Speech

Forest Whitaker's Saw Gerrera was only given a few minutes of screen time throughout the course of Rogue One, but it appears his role was originally much bigger.

The first teaser trailer featured a rather stern speech courtesy of the man himself, as he asks "what will you do when they catch you? What will you do when they break you?" of an unseen recipient - presumably Jyn Erso, though this is not clear.

Interestingly enough, these lines are being delivered by a decidedly bald Saw, as opposed to the haggard, hairier version of the character we met on Jedha a short while into the movie.

So this either means that the character underwent a design change, or, more likely, this cut speech is from an extended version of the film's prologue, when Saw is indeed very bald and we see him take Jyn under his wing.

And that raises even more questions. Why would he talk this way to a child who just lost both their parents? Bald Saw also looks like he's in his Jedha hideout - was there a scene between him and a slightly older Jyn here, and this is the moment of tension that leads to them parting ways?

Whatever the answer, it's unlikely we'll ever find out - so speculate away!
