10 Irresistible Quentin Tarantino Spin-Offs That Definitely Deserve To Be Made

10. Captain Koons

€œI was a good friend of your dad€™s. We were in that Hanoi pit of hell together over five years. Hopefully, you€™ll never have to experience this yourself, but when two men are in a situation like me and your Dad were, for as long as we were, you take on certain responsibilities of the other. If it had been me who had not made it, Major Coolidge would be talking right now to my son Jim. But the way it turned out is I€™m talking to you, Butch. I got something for you.€

Who? Captain Koons, played by Christopher Walken, from Pulp Fiction. This cameo is probably one of the most memorable in cinematic history. It€™s a flashback scene where Koons, having just returned from the Vietnam War, visits the family of one of his POW buddies. Koons sits and speaks with a young Butch Coolidge (who will grow up to be a boxer played by Bruce Willis) and tells Butch the story of his father€™s watch. In this memorable and hilarious exchange, Koons explains the history of Butch€™s grandfather€™s watch, which his father hid up his ass to avoid it being discovered by his Vietnamese captors. After Butch€™s father died, Koons took over responsibility for the watch, also keeping it up his ass. I would love to see a movie with Koons and Butch€™s father fighting in Vietnam and dealing with living in a POW camp. Tarantino has already shown he can make a good war movie with Inglourious Basterds, and given all the liberties he took with World War II, I€™m really interested to see what he€™d do with the Vietnam War. Likelihood? Doubtful. For one, Pulp Fiction was made in 1994 when Walken was in his early 50s. Now the man€™s 70 and unless you use a lot of digital trickery, there€™s no way Walken would be able to play Koons in a prequel. And if you can€™t do a Koons movie without Walken, it€™s kind of like what€™s the point? So we€™ll have to file this one under €œman, wouldn€™t it have been cool if this happened€€
