The Prediction: Though Apocalypse will surely be defeated by the end of the movie, don't expect him to stay dead, as in the comics he is famously able to regenerate and adapt his body to pretty much any type of environment. The post-credits scene may very well hint at him lying dormant for future movies.

Why It'll Happen: Because Apocalypse is such an iconic supervillain that straight-up killing him off inside of one movie would anger a lot of fans who would surely be hoping for him to become a recurring baddie down the line.

This would put those fanboy fears to rest, regardless of whether or not he actually does appear again: the door is at least left open.

Why It Might Not: If we assume that Apocalypse really can't grow to a giant size and that was indeed a dream sequence, then we're going to be probably dealing with a dumbed-down, nerfed version of the villain, so why not just kill him off in one movie and focus on another baddie for the next film?
