10 Lazy Movie Sequels That Had The Same Plots As The Originals

2. Homeward Bound 2: Lost In San Francisco (1996)

b008v5kc_640_360 As a rule of thumb, if you get lost in the first movie, you're probably destined to get lost in the sequel. Just ask the adorable animal trio we originally witnessed making an incredible journey home in Disney's Homeward Bound, who were tasked with doing exactly the same thing when it came time for a follow-up. So whereas in the first adventure we got mountains and pastures and wild country, the sequel takes the animals totally urban. Just as with Kevin McCallister's parents, the pet owners in the Homeward Bound series really need to sort out their priorities - losing these animals twice is probably a sign that you shouldn't have pets to begin with. Homeward Bound II could have been worse, though: the cutesy dynamic between Sassy, Chance and Shadow is still in play, and the movie gives them a few interesting set-pieces to work around. A shame, then, that it's too hard to believe that the same animals went through such an ardour task on two separate occassions.
