10. The Fall From The Climb Would Have Broken Batmans Back
Nolan was quite smart to alter the breaking of the Bat. Maintaining the imagery and phrasing (who wasnt gleefully on the edge of their seat when Bane drolly said I will break you?) he lessened the severity of the injury (now it was just a dislocated vertebrae, not a full on broken back). While this allowed for Bruces seemingly speedy recovery, for some reason once he was up and walking Nolan decided to put him through something much more dangerous than being thrown on a hulks knee. Bruce fails twice attempting getting out of the pit, both times free falling a few seconds before being caught by the rope. These moments are as flinch inducing as the Jokers pencil trick or knife attacks and yet hes meant to walk away unscathed. Even if youre willing to overlook the effects of putting a recovering spine under that much trauma, a fall like that with such a sudden stop (that rope has no give in it and has only one point of contact) would have snapped his back in half. I'm OK with a vertibrae being smacked back into place, but I dont buy this painless fall. Not one big.
