1. "Tell Him I Send A Mighty Gift." - The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers
In The Two Towers, the middle chapter of the Middle Earth epic Lord of the Rings films, Faramir, played by David Wenham, says, "Tell him I send a mighty gift," which was actually a reference to what his father Denethor, played by John Noble, tells him earlier in Osgiliath. He also says, "A chance for Faramir, captain of Gondor, to prove his quality," again referencing his father's lines from Osgiliath, from the scene between the father and son that was deleted, making the lines something of a puzzler. I don't blame Peter Jackson and his editors for making the cut. Diehard Tolkien fans may have been upset with all the cuts the movies made to the books, but as a friend's father once said after walking out of The Fellowship of the Ring, the franchise's first installment, when my friend complained about all the missing material: "Exactly what month did you want to leave the theater?" It should be noted though that the missing Osgiliath scene was preserved in the extended version of the trilogy, but who has the patience to sit through an 11-hour film? Not me. So what other movies or T.V. shows featured lines of dialogue that referenced deleted scenes? Tell us what we missed in the comments below.
