10 Major 2014 Films That Will Probably Kill Their Franchise

1. X-Men: Days Of Future Past (Classic Vintage)

In a world where franchises rule, words like last, final and end should be banned. Jason Goes To Hell wasn€™t really the Final Friday. Harry Potter, whose final entry had posters screaming It All Ends is going to get the universe-expanding treatment with the upcoming Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. And X-Men: The Last Stand was really only the beginning. At the time viewed as the final film in the series chronologically (the final teases were, at the time, incredibly hopeful), things since have took an exciting turn. Aside from some solo missteps for Wolverine, the franchise is still going strong, with the original cast (Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen et al) returning for time bending Days Of Future Past. But could this be their genuine last time? The new trailer suggests so. Midway through a montage of dystopian destruction and seventies tension we see a slumped Magneto musing, €œAll those years wasted, fighting each other, Charles.€ Now that€™s very reflective for Erik. It has been heavily theorised that Pat-Stew€™s days may be numbered (again), but could Ian-Mac€™s be too? Even if it€™s not, if this is indeed the overarching sentiment of the characters, it suggests that they€™re moving towards some sort of resolution. With Storm also looking like she€™s about to bite the dust and the next film in the series, Apocalypse, confirmed to be set in the eighties, could Bryan Singer be closing the door on the original mutants? Think any of these franchises will make it through to ring in the new year? Any more you want to add. Comments, as per, down below.
