10 Major Cameos To Expect In Star Wars: The Force Awakens

9. An Actual Old School Death Star

Probability? 9/10 The Star Wars series - as George Lucas surprisingly eloquently put it - is poetry. It rhymes. That's why the first trilogy focused on one generation's discovery and embracing of the Force, the prequels did the same with another generation, and now the sequels will do it again. It's not an accident that the films play out the same dynamics with different characters: that's the symmetry of the franchise. And in those terms, it should have been no surprise when the first official ensemble poster revealed what looks suspiciously like a Death Star in the background. The Starkiller Base was always going to be something along those lines, and you get the feeling that the Empire isn't the kind of entity that would simply give up on the whole Death Star Manifesto simply because it's been thwarted. That goes doubly considering the fact that the Death Star hasn't even had a real chance to fail: its one operational exercise saw the destruction of an entire planet, and it was only two design flaws that really made the difference between success and failure. Hiding the build within a planetary facade would go a long way to solving those issues, and it wouldn't be at all surprising to see the Starkiller Base open revealed late on to be a Death Star in new clothing.
