10 Major Cameos To Expect In Star Wars: The Force Awakens
2. Luke Skywalker?
Probability? 7/10 Hold tight for the inevitable tide of confusion... Yes, it's no revelation that Luke Skywalker is in The Force Awakens: he might not have been featured in the advertising beyond his voice over (and possibly that hand touching R2-D2, but even that's not confirmed), but he's definitely, definitely involved. So what qualifies him as a cameo? Well, as we've been repeatedly told, there's a distinct reason why we've not seen Luke in the advertising so far. Could that reason simply be that his part is limited to an impact cameo? Imagine it: the climactic fight scene between Finn and Kylo Renn in the snowy forest begins with the former terrified for his life and incapable of wielding a lightsaber with any technical ability. He's taking a pasting, genuinely on the verge of defeat, when all of a sudden you hear the familiar sound of Luke's saber, and he emerges, having remained unseen for the majority of the film. Setting up a bigger role in Episode 8 would also be a smart move for embedding the young cast as the heroic focus this time out.
