10 Major Challenges Terminator Genisys Faces

7. Convincing Audiences That That Isn't Daenerys

Taylor isn't the only Game Of Thrones alumni to be on board with Terminator: Genisys. Of what little information that's been released about the film so far, Paramount have deigned fans with a rough cast list, albeit without much clue as to who they'll be playing. The appearance of Emilia Clarke, better known to audiences as Daenerys Targaryen, is of great excitement. Especially since her name's attached to a pretty major character in the Terminator universe: she'll be playing Sarah Connor, the part originated by Linda Hamilton, and who hasn't appeared on the big screen since Hamilton left the role. There's a bunch of actors best known for iconic roles due to appear in the film - Matt Smith, aka Doctor Who Number Eleven, JK Simmons aka J Jonah Jameson - but Clarke's casting is a double whammy. Not only will audiences have to adapt to seeing her as something other than Daenerys Targaryen, but they'll also have to buy her as a suitable replacement for Linda Hamilton (and, really, nobody is going to be mixing that pair up any time soon). It's an impressive cast list, but a cast list that involves a lot of people best known for geek-friendly parts; looking past that is going to be difficult.
