Sticking with animation, it was revealed that Star Wars Rebels' upcoming fourth season would also be its last. Despite the fact that it's been very well-received, the show has always had a clear shelf-life as it cannot crossover too much with the events of A New Hope.

As the series gets ever closer to that moment, it fits that they're deciding to end things. Still, it'll be very interesting to see just how it does end, and what fate befalls the likes of Ezra, Hera, and Sabine, all of whom feature prominently in the new trailer (below), along with the re-canonised Grand Admiral Thrawn. It looks as if they're heading to Yavin IV this year, so we should get a lot of answers. You can read our full trailer breakdown here.

However, this isn't the end for Star Wars animation. We also had the announcement of Forces of Destiny just before Celebration started, which will bring new stories focused on the females of the Star Wars universe, including Leia, Rey, Jyn Erso, Ahsoka Tano and many more. Launching in July on Disney's YouTube channel, it'll be a series of 2-3 minute shorts, showing further canon adventures of these heroes. The likes of Daisy Ridley, Felicity Jones, and Lupita Nyong'o (Maz Kanata) will all reprise their roles.

Meanwhile, Dave Filoni promised that we would be seeing more from the Rebels team in future. Given the focus on stories between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, I wouldn't be surprised to see a new animated show set somewhere in that timeframe.
