3. Emil Hamilton

Emil Hamilton was a character in Man Of Steel and he had quite an important role. It was Hamilton who implanted the Kryptonian Command Key into the Kryptonian machine that created a singularity which resulted in all of the aliens (Superman and Zod excluded) being sucked back into the Phantom Zone. He was probably sucked in there too, although his fate is unconfirmed. And that's not the point. The point is that he has an interesting role in the comic books. He's a former bigwig at S.T.A.R. Labs and he became Superman's go-to guy for super technology. S.T.A.R. Labs is of course the organisation that created the character Cyborg - who will be played by Ray Fisher in future movies - so Hamilton's appearance was at the very least foreshadowing the appearance of the organisation and the cyborg hero in the franchise.
