10 Martin Scorsese Movies That Are Certified Masterpieces

9. The Aviator

Aviator The Aviator shows just how skilled Scorsese is when it comes to how he depicts the worlds that his characters occupy. Every little detail surrounding the life of Howard Hughes is presented in a realistic fashion never resorting to just reveling in nostalgia as most biopics tend to do. Scorsese succeeds in presenting a portrait of one of his heroes that doesn't glamorize anything or add anything unnecessary. The best thing about The Aviator is that Hughes is presented as a real human being and not just another overly idealized legend. Presenting his characters in this fashion has always been a strong point in Scorsese's career and he really succeeds with The Aviator.

My favorite movies are Before Sunrise, Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and Her so don't be surprised to see those pop up in my writing from time to time. I'm currently in school for Journalism/English and I have an obsession with all things cinematic on the side.
