8. Victoria Hand

Due to her somewhat duplicitous nature in the comic books, fans weren't sure what to make of Agent Victoria Hand when she was first introduced in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. While all the signs at one point indicated that she was indeed working for HYDRA, her loyalty to S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Coulson was revealed shortly after, and fans embraced the character. However, in one of the show's most shocking moments to date, Hand was killed when it was revealed that Grant Ward was working for HYDRA. It feels like a waste of the character (and a moment played purely for shock value) as it arguably wouldn't have been in the least bit difficult to still find a role for her in the series following the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. The strange thing about Hand's death is that after the initial first shot, the final two took place off screen. Were Marvel trying to avoid the wrath of censors, or could this be leading to one of those clichéd flashback reveals somewhere down the line in which it's revealed that Ward didn't shoot her and she was for some reason left alive? It's unlikely, but possible.
