9. Steve Rogers Gets Beaten Up... And Asks For More (Captain America: The First Avenger)

Prior to becoming a super soldier, Steve Rogers was certainly a plucky young man (after all, it was his bravery that finally convinced Colonel Chester Phillips that he was the right man for the procedure) but, at times, that bravery bordered on pure stupidity. After a verbal altercation inside a movie theatre, Rogers gets beaten up by a bully in a nearby alley. Despite the fact that he gets absolutely pummelled, he picks up a trash can lid to use as a shield (foreshadowing his use of his iconic shield in later adventures) and tells the bully that he can readily continue to receive beatings "all day". He was saved by his pal Bucky Barnes but, had Bucky not intervened, he would have been beaten up all day - and where exactly would that have got him?
