8. Malekith
Not for the last time on this list, the second solo outing for The God of Thunder will be put under the microscope as that film's big bad makes his laughable presence known in this collection of easily detestable Marvel mugs.
At a glance, though, the sight of the formidable Christopher Eccleston bulldozing into the MCU and butting heads with Chris Hemsworth's Thor seemed to be a recipe for epic success. But the reality was a touch more disappointing as fans would quickly tease and make fun of Malekith's lack of gravitas or any real threat. This overall forgettability quickly marked the Dark Elf out as arguably the outright worst attempt at a one-off final boss ever committed to an MCU entry, something most would quickly agree on when offering the subject up for debate.
The fact that Malekith and the Dark Elves in general have rarely been touched upon in the wake of this all-out dud of a flick and showing tell you all you need to know about how much Marvel Studios want you to remember this damp squib. But that still won't stop fans from happily firing their particle rifles at the pale antagonist, all the same.
