10 MCU Fates Worse Than Death

There were probably many comic book fans who thought they would never see the day when Dormammu was put in a movie. After years of experimenting with different comic book properties, 2017's Doctor Strange finally gave us the extra dimensional being that many people had heard about in the comics for years. Though Strange is able to defeat the being from the Dark Dimension, what could have transpired seemed too unpleasant for words.

Using the power of the Time Stone to its fullest extent, Strange uses his skills to create an endless time loop, as he proceeds to keep dying over and over again only to return asking Dormammu to bargain once more. Though most of the scene is initially played off for laughs, the actual reality of that situation gets pretty morbid if you dwell on it for too long.

Yes, at this juncture, it's just this annoying wizard with chiseled cheekbones asking to bargain, but the idea of reliving the same moment over and over again for the rest of eternity would end turning into a nightmare pretty quickly. The entire practice becomes too much for even Dormammu to bear, eventually bargaining with Strange to leave Earth and never return.

I mean, Groundhog Day may have been a fun movie, but the idea of continuing a single few seconds rather than a day is a prison no soul should find themselves in.
