With Captain America: The First Avenger predominately based on WWII, it is not surprising that the movie included scenes from the UK. However, Liverpool was used in an important scene in which audiences may not recognise, as it was portraying Brooklyn.

The Liverpool Docks were used in the Phase 1 movie as Captain America chases HYDRA agent Kruger along the waterfront, who tried escaping in a submarine. Steve Rogers was able to stop the villain from escaping but did not prevent the hitman from killing himself while establishing HYDRA as a threat.

Not only was the Liverpool Docks seen as a great location to portray the time period of the movie, but it is also a fantastic tourist location. You can even stay at the Titanic Hotel which is located right next to Captain America's pursuit of Kruger.
