10 MCU Moments That Don't Quite Fit
4. Hawkeye's Brilliant Plan - Avengers: Age Of Ultron
Imagine this: You are highly-trained SHIELD operative Clint Barton. Your genius friends created an artificially intelligent robot who whomps the Avengers in their own home, creates an army of drones, and enlists the help of two mutants (One of whom can read minds). After the mind reader sends Hulk in a rampage and shows everyone their worst nightmares, you and your friends need to split ASAP.
Being a seasoned spy, you would have access to a number of off-the-book safehouses for just this kind of situation. Instead, you lead your friends (and potentially a murderous, metal horde) straight to your family farmhouse. Why did he do this? Ultron had access to all digital information and Wanda Maximoff could have read his mind, for all he knew.
After his lackluster portrayal in The Avengers, Hawkeye deserved to have a little more spotlight. Exposing Barton's background set the stage for what would become his Disney Plus series. Fans loved the introduction of Barton's family into the MCU, and it did increase emotional investment into the character.
Jeremy Renner and Linda Cardellini's innate charm are a win, but doing it in this way just seems questionable for a guy who was savvy enough to survive whatever the hell happened in Budapest.
