Few will ever forget the moment they first stumbled upon Chris Evans' glorious facial fuzz during his return to the MCU stage as the "Nomad" variation of Captain America during the events of Infinity War.

But in reality, those dedicated to all things Marvel Studios had actually been exposed to a bearded Cap long before the game-changing events of that third Avengers flick.

As revealed a little later down the road, Evans' commitments to the Snowpiercer flick around the time of eventually shooting Avengers Assemble's post-credits shawarma snacking sequence meant that he wasn't able to rid his face of the hair it was sporting in that moment.

So, instead of going full Henry Cavill and digitally covering up the beard, a more practical option was settled on that saw Evans having to don "special-effect skin makeup" which executive producer Jeremy Latcham would go on record to note "looked terrible" by the time it was finished.

Ever wonder why Cap is seen covering his face throughout much of his fast-food munching? Well, that's because he was specifically asked to lean on his dodgy looking mug as a way of masking this botched cover job.
