5. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

I have very little doubt that this movie will go down as a cult classic in the years to come, just as the novel by which it's based on has done. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is the film that represents a realistic version of high school, while also featuring characters that are not only likeable but genuine as well. Audiences are flooded with stupid caricatures of high school students and cliché representations of teenagers, but this film debunks all of that to create something universal. No matter who you are, you can relate, in some way, to Charlie, Sam and Patrick - whether you're in high school or not is irrelevant. The movie is less about being a teenager and more about being a human being and fitting in, which gives it an honest quality that very few films can ever dream of achieving.
