10 Michael Keaton Movies You've Never Even Heard Of

10. One Good Cop

What is it?: If you fancy watching Keaton dish out a non-comic-book style of justice, then this could be the movie for you. In 1991's One Good Cop Keaton played hard-working law enforcer and all-round good egg Artie Lewis. After partner Benjamin Bratt got whacked and he and girlfriend Rene Russo faced an uphill financial struggle trying to adopt the subsequent orphans, Lewis committed robbery to get fast funds, in the process sinking up to his neck in big, bad trouble. Well it wouldn't have been any fun watching him rescue kittens for two hours would it? Having broken out of his comedy mould for Batman, Keaton tried cementing his serious credentials in this tough drama. Maybe it was an over-earnest attempt to do something meaty which wound up on the melodramatic side of the fence. The star needed a script that built on his tough Bat guy reputation whilst also showcasing a sensitive side. One Good Cop managed that trick, but sadly audiences didn't get in on the deal.
