10 Mistakes Avengers: Infinity War Cannot Afford To Make

5. Thou Shalt Make Actual Sense

The plot holes. There were a lot of plot holes. There were a lot of plot-holes inherent to Avengers: Age of Ultron, many of which left audience members scratching their heads in the same capacity as if they'd just stumbled out of the theatre and into the light after a screening of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Which is a pretty mean way of saying that Age of Ultron settled to be one of those movies that fires its plot points at you at such a speed that it hopes you can't really register what the hell is going on. Not the sort of thoughtful writing you'd expect from somebody like Joss Whedon, whose scripts have almost always felt consistent and - best of all - coherent. Why is the Falcon absent from the movie? Where does Thor go during the final battle? Why are Ultron's powers so vague? Why doesn't he find a better way to destroy the world than the awkward one that he chooses? What the hell is the Water of Sight that Thor uses to have a vision? All of these questions and no good answers. Infinity War...you have work to do.
