10 Mistakes Directors Hoped You'd Forget By The End Of The Movie

2. The Obvious Arnie Stunt Double - Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Terminator 2's truck chase is one of the most iconic and unforgettable action sequences ever put to film, no matter that it also features one oft-mentioned flaw.

Throughout the chase, Arnold Schwarzenegger's motorcycle stunt double is distractingly obvious in numerous key moments - particularly when he drives off a raised partition, when he grabs John Connor (Edward Furlong) from his own bike, and when he rides off while the T-1000's (Robert Patrick) tanker explodes behind him.

The stunt double just doesn't quite look enough like Arnie to pass muster, especially as these shots focus pretty explicitly on the T-800's face.

Cameron clearly hoped he'd gotten away with it during shooting, and that fans would be so mesmerised by the spectacle as to miss the mistake entirely.

As incredible a scene as it is, though, the doubles were obvious to anyone who's seen the film more than a few times. And so, when it came to remastering the film for its 2017 3D re-release, Cameron finally had enough of the complaints and fixed it once and for all.

For the remaster, Cameron had Schwarzenegger's face digitally superimposed over the stunt double's, the result of which is basically seamless and finally plugs up one of the few gaffes in a near-perfect movie.
