10 Moments That Literally Stopped Horror Movies

1. One Cut Of The Dead - Meta Moments

Given its meta style, One Cut Of The Dead has a number of moments that take you out of your immersion to then re-enter at the higher level. The movie is split into three sections, each revealing a bit more about the last.

After the end of the first section, we make a complete departure from the emotional, blood-soaked scenes we’ve just come from and look at the behind-the-scenes of the in-movie movie, One Cut Of The Dead. It literally calls for the credits to stop rolling as we go from the overhead shot of our crying actress back to a sun-lit rooftop with cast and crew.

Aside from this there are a number of interventions in the shooting of the movie, including substituting actors, giving notes and flashing signs about the updated direction of the film to the performers as they act it.

Not only are there in-film moments that stop the filming of this in-movie movie, but also times where we as the audience have to take a second to catch up with what the hell just happened.
