Brilliant doesn't necessarily mean good. Sometimes a thing is brilliant because of just how insanely absurd or outright stupid it is.
This 2013 so-bad-it's-good attempted horror flick features one of the most ingeniously idiotic monsters in recent memory. After their lake trip takes a turn for the worst, a group of friends finds themselves at the mercy of a giant man-eating catfish. Yes, that's right, a catfish.
The thing that earns this wannabe Jaws a spot on this list is the fact that there is absolutely no way to prepare yourself for how ridiculous it is. Can catfish be scary? Sure, they've been known to actually be quite vicious. The real question is can a horror movie about a giant mostly CGI catfish be anything but laughable.
Beneath likes to think its featured creature to be a terrifying force to be reckoned with. Though at the end of the day, much like the movie itself, it is nothing more than a joke.
But hey, at least it's a funny one.
