10 More Deleted Movie Scenes You Won't Believe Actually Happened
1. Velma And Daphne Share A Kiss - Scooby-Doo
Rumours of an apparent relationship secretly going on between Daphne and Velma throughout the events of the first live-action Scooby-Doo movie have been out there for a while, with writer James Gunn confirming a few years back that Velma in particular was explicitly gay in his original script.
The studio repeatedly watered down this aspect of the character, though. And according to Sarah Michelle Gellar, a moment involving her Daphne and Velma sharing a smooch was also left out of the completed picture despite it actually being filmed.
This revelation was swiftly followed up by Gellar noting how she had no idea where the deleted scene ended up. And for those wondering when this erased moment would've gone down, well, the actor explained back in 2002 that the kiss would've shown up during the supernatural body-switching sequence.
Not knowing how to get the right souls back in the correct bodies, Daphne and Velma soon decided that they may as well trying a quick smooch and see if that did the trick. And it would have!
But the folks calling the shots clearly weren't happy to unleash a steamy moment Gellar feels "the world wants to see", and so this particular Mystery Inc. snog never saw the light of day.
