10 More Disturbing Movie Reveals You Only Notice Rewatching

9. A Health Warning Shows That Sam Isn't Safe - I Am Legend

Easily the most disturbing moment to fall out of Francis Lawrence's I Am Legend involved Dr. Robert Neville's loyal pooch being infected by the Krippin virus and eventually put out of its incoming misery by her devastated owner.

While this German Shepard known as Sam was immune from the airborne strain of the virus, she was still vulnerable to a bite, which is precisely what goes down when an infected dog attacks her at dusk.

If you were watching closely enough, Sam's heartbreaking and rather disturbing eventual fate was actually foreshadowed a little earlier in the picture, though.

As Neville and Sam search an apartment about 20-minutes in, the former opens a cupboard which has a health warning stuck on it. Said piece of paper reveals that, while the one-time human darkseekers can't, "infected dogs can come out at dusk", with people being advised to "stay in the light" to remain safe.

Unfortunately, when those darkseeker dogs did eventually do exactly that later in the movie, the sunlight went walkies just before Neville and Sam could get away. And it was that lack of light which opened the door for this good girl to be horrifically chewed on by an infected hound.
