Kate Beckinsale is an acting and beauty icon, primarily known for her roles as Selene in the famous Underworld series and Anna Valerious in Van Helsing. Over the years, she has worked hard and proven her gold status in the acting world.

In 2016, The Disappointments Room was released with Beckinsale as the star, playing Dana, a mother. She, along with her son, moves into an isolated country manor and fought against horrors that were released from the attic.

From the moment it first screened, it was considered a failure. Coming across as just another average haunted house movie, bringing nothing new to the world of horror and nothing for audiences to get excited over.

But the reviews speak for themselves; having a whopping 0% critics score and 16% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, it is fair to say that viewers were, ironically, severely disappointed.

To top it off, The Disappointments Room was another box office failure, with a loss of $10 million - grossing $5 million from a $15 million budget.

Although it was not all bad, critics said Beckinsale was a good actress and did the most with her material. But after such a disaster, it’s hard not to feel sorry for her.
