10 MORE Hidden Details In Opening Horror Movie Scenes

2006's mostly pretty-good adaptation of video game Silent Hill has an incredibly meaningful franchise Easter egg hidden in plain sight at the very start of the film. 

We open on Rose Da Silva (Radha Mitchell) desperately searching for her daughter Sharon (Jodelle Ferland) in the middle of the night, and at one point she passes through a sewage tunnel.

Keep your eyes on the graffiti spray-painted on the tunnel's wall, as the name "Cheryl" will be visible for a few moments. 

As fans of the video games will know, this wasn't just a random name sprayed on the wall by the production designer - it's the name of Sharon's equivalent character in the first Silent Hill game, who similarly goes missing at the very beginning.

Silent Hill was one of the first video game adaptations to actually take the source material seriously and do something good with it, and this Easter egg was an early indication to fans that they were in good hands.
