10 More Horror Movie Villains Who Actually Won

Not everything always goes to plan, but if in the end you manage to get out alive and well then technically you’ve won. That’s the case for Esther (really Leena) in Orphan: First Kill. We know from the existence of Orphan that she manages to survive and keep her secret by the end of the film, but along the way things don’t go quite to plan.

Posing as a missing American child after escaping an asylum, she is ‘reunited’ with the parents of Esther and incorporates herself into family life. Her mother grows suspicious as Esther has forgotten key details about her life before and seems to have developed an uncannily good painting skill. This doesn’t bode well for Esther, and she ends up ruining it all for herself when her false teeth fall out and her trusting ‘father’ realises she’s not who she says she is.

So it’s not gone perfectly: she isn’t part of an American family, living happily ever after. However she does manage to kill off old mom and pop and head on to the next family, alive and unscathed - so in the end she still got her way.
