10 MORE Horror Movies Where The Monster Isn't The Villain

Irish thriller Oddity revolves around Darcy, a blind psychic who's trying to solve the murder of her twin sister, Dani. She heads to the scene of the crime, which happens to be the house of Dani's husband, Ted.

Ted is frustrated since Darcy barges into his humble abode unannounced, and worst still, Darcy has no intention of leaving until she's cracked the case. Making this whole situation even more uncomfortable, Darcy is accompanied by a ghastly wooden statue. Considering the statue is constantly lurking in the background, it's no surprise when it comes to life during Oddity's climax, but despite its intimidating demeanour, the wooden man isn't malevolent.

Darcy correctly deduces that Ted orchestrated Dani's death with an associate called Ivan. After Ted leaves Dani fatally wounded, she awakens the mannequin with an enchantment, with the wooden creature lumbering around the house, mauling Ivan horrifically.

When Ted has Ivan executed, he returns to his house, certain he got away scot-free... which brings us to Monster #2.

In the epilogue, Ted stumbles upon Dani's cursed bell, which is said to summon a murderous bellhop ghost if rung. Dismissing this notion, Ted rings the bell, seemingly with no effect. However, an undead bellhop appears just before the credits roll, indicating Ted met his maker seconds later.
