Without doubt one of the most gloriously detailed and gripping animated features released in the past decade, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel, Across the Spider-Verse, is honestly the visual gift that just keeps on giving.

It often feels like absolutely every frame is over-flowing with easy-to-miss Easter eggs and details just begging to be discovered by audiences, and that was definitely the case during the closing moments of the mesmerising and hugely moving 2023 picture.

As Miles Morales surprisingly finds himself in the Earth-42 dimension instead of his own, a quick look at that universe's skyline shows you just how much darker things really are in this world. This being the universe where Miles - or anyone - did not become Spider-Man, the city's crime levels are through the roof, and it appears a lot of the hope and positivity has been drained out of it, as seen in the fact the iconic Nike "Just Do It" slogan has been replaced by a far more negative "Don't Do It" one on a building in the background.

It's such an insanely small but marvelous detail and one that is easily not caught during even your first few watches. But once you do, it makes an already bleak universe feel that little bit more hopeless.
