The Jason Voorhees depicted throughout the fifth Friday the 13th film is actually a copycat imposter - a deranged, bereaved father named Roy Burns (Dick Wieand) who adopts the Jason persona to enact revenge on those he deems responsible for his son's death.

Throughout the film the fake Jason's hockey mask is actually slightly different: the chevrons are blue rather than red, which provides a slight clue that the killer we're looking at isn't the real Jason.
