10 More Movie Scenes Shot For Real

8. The Dark Knight Rises - Crashing This Plane

As we'll note a few more times before this list reaches its dramatic conclusion, Christopher Nolan isn't one to rely heavily on the world of computer generation. If it's written in his script, you can bet the world class director is going to do everything in his power to authentically bring it to life.

One of the most notable examples of Nolan going the genuine extra mile to ensure he seized the audience's attention from the very first scene of his creation can be found in the third entry of his Dark Knight Trilogy. Instead of heading down the much safer route of crafting a believable CGI imagining of Bane and his crew hijacking and then dropping a plane out of the sky, the director went ahead and did it for real.

Admittedly, the actual exchange that went down within the jet was done inside of a simulator. Yet, when it came to said crashing of the plane being towed by Bane and his boys, the sight of the full-scale prop aircraft dropping into Scotland's Cairngorm Mountains is about as legit as it gets.
