5. Despite What Indiana Jones Says, Sometimes "X" Does Mark The Spot - The Last Crusade

After spending years travelling around the world and hunting down various precious artefacts, it's safe to say Indiana Jones knows a thing or two about archeology.

So, why wouldn't his students believe their professor towards the beginning of The Last Crusade when he explained to them in a lecture that "70% of all archeology was done in a library", they don't follow maps to treasure, and "X never, ever marks the spot"?

Hilariously, though, as Jones' quest to find the Holy Grail eventually takes him to a library of all places later in the flick. And you'll never guess which Roman numeral marks the entrance to the tomb they're looking for?

And on top of "X" unquestionably marking the spot during their adventure, Indy, his father, and the Nazis all use a map in order to find where the legendary Grail is, once again contradicting the professor's earlier foreshadowing-stuffed statement to his class.
