10 More Unnecessary Movie Details You Need To Know
2. Rick Baker Was Responsible For The Riddler's Make-Up
When the legendary name of "Rick Baker" enters a movie-centric conversation, you're more than likely going to shine a light on the brilliant work the Hollywood make-up master put into crafting the effects for the likes of American Werewolf in London, Michael Jackson's iconic Thriller music video, or even the more recent Disney entry of Maleficent.
In short, the outstanding makeup man is known mostly for his ability to transform mere mortals into other-worldly creatures. So, that's what made his decision to step in and put his stamp on some of DC's most well-known faces a bit of an unexpected and little-known career move.
But stamp he did when it came to Joel Schumacher's divisive 1995 Batflick, Batman Forever, replacing Batman Return's Stan Wilson in the makeup chair.
Therefore, you'll spot Baker's fingerprints all over things like The Riddler's disfigured prosthetic mug, and Two-Face's unmistakable split face. Baker did actually request to have both the latter villain's iconic bulging eye and exposed teeth appear in the flick, but that compelling request was quickly shot down by those in charge. What a shame.
When you bring in the Baker, surely you let him go full Baker, right?
