10 More Upcoming Movie Performances Doomed To Fail
9. Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett - Jurassic World Rebirth
After a few hit-and-miss chapters and some usually quite reliable performers under-delivering in the latter section of the Jurassic Park/World franchise (looking at you Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard), it's now quite difficult to generate much excitement for more A-list talent being thrown into the dino chaos.
Scarlett Johansson is one of the latest big-name stars to attempt to make it out of this prehistoric adventure alive, with her covert operation expert Zora Bennett showing up in Jurassic Park Rebirth - stomping into theatres on July 2, 2025.
But even with the likes of Jurassic Park writer David Koepp and Godzilla (2014) director Gareth Edwards being involved in this latest bid to squeeze more dollars out of the stagnant series, this probably won't be a movie that really shows off what Johansson can bring to the table.
Instead, Scar-Jo will most likely just be saddled with generic dialogue - she'll call a raptor a "clever girl (or boy)" at some point - predictably spend much of the action butting heads with the scientists in the room, and be ultimately overshadowed by the stars people really came to see - the big, sharp-toothed beasts.
She is definitely capable of producing some rather captivating work in big-budget blockbusters and even told ComicBook.com that the Rebirth script is "incredible" (Pratt similarly called the pages of Dominion "unbelievable", though, don't forget).
However, if history has taught us anything, it's that even world-class acting talents struggle to do much with the often bland stereotypes they're tasked with playing in this franchise that should have gone extinct years ago.
