4. The Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky
Hands up if you remember The Ice Road. Anyone?
This Liam Neeson-starring action thriller, centered around a band of ice truckers who race to rescue the survivors of a diamond mine collapse, was rather unceremoniously released on Netflix in the summer of 2021.
Even with much of the world still being in the grip of the pandemic, The Ice Road disappeared from The Discourse after its release weekend, where it did admittedly post solid viewing figures for the streamer despite scoring mixed reviews.
It certainly seemed like a one-and-done romp like the overwhelming majority of Neeson's post-Taken Dad Movies, then, but in April 2023 it was confirmed that The Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky was in advanced development.
The sequel, which sees Neeson's Mike McCann fending off a gang of Nepalese mercenaries, wrapped shooting in February 2024 and is currently awaiting release.
And yet, four years removed from the original, does anyone have more than a vague, misty memory of it, let alone enough affection to want to sit through another one?
