6. Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes

Furiosa Anya Taylor-Joy

It may have only been six years since the conclusion of the terrific Caesar-led Planet of the Apes flicks, but that still hasn't stopped 20th Century Studios from swinging right back into the world of talking apes.

Pitched as "Apocalypto with apes", according to the flick's director Wes Ball (via Empire), after that hugely emotional finale to the aforementioned gripping trilogy, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will jump into the action around 300 years after those earlier movies.

Owen Teague's Noa will lead the adventure this time around as humans now find themselves in a feral state, with Kevin Durand's crown-boasting Proximus Caesar twisting his namesake's beliefs and message as a villain looking to get his hands on human technology.

The visuals for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes look just as stunning as any other recent Apes picture, and with Ball also looking to inject a little Star Wars energy into this particular quest (via Empire), it's safe to say viewers are in for a slightly different simian experience when this Kingdom comes on May 24, 2024.
