10 More Weirdest Cult Horror Films You Need To See

When young May's mother once told her "If you can't find a friend, make one!", we suspect that she never intended her innocent little girl to take that advice literally.

As an adult, May is a socially inept loner that constantly sees the beauty in others, but only ever admires them afar. That's until she falls for local hottie Adam, or more to the point falls in love with his hands.

What starts off like a quirky, albeit morbid, romance film, quickly turns into something far more demented and infinitely more charming - with May actively seeking out beautiful things so that she can create what she believes to be the most perfect companion.

Despite its roots being firmly within the slasher genre, as well as its premise owing more than a pound of flesh to Frankenstein, May is very much its own thing. At times awkward and surprisingly sweet, May constantly blurs the lines between horror, drama, and black comedy, but never loses sight of its intrinsically morbid core.

A criminally overlooked psychological horror film that examines themes of loneliness and societal outcasts, May is a delightfully morbid treat that has enthralled cult circles for quite some time now.
