10 Most Annoying Movie Plot Holes Ever

3. Karate Kid - He Wins By Breaking The Rules

Liar Liar Court Scene
Columbia Pictures

It almost feels like a sin to pick apart such a well-loved film, but there’s one glaring plot hole that cannot be ignored and really does detract from the overall experience once you notice it.

Just like the first rule of fight club is to never talk about fight club, the first rule of the big final fight is no head-kicking. Great! It’s a clean, clear simple rule that should be easy to follow. So why did we all just sit by and let it happen when the Karate Kid himself, Daniel, wins his fight by straight booting his opponent in the head.

There was one rule! And he won by breaking it! Did the referee just not notice? Did he forget his own rules? Or did he think it was such a badass move that he just decided to let it slide?

Either way the point remains that the film should’ve ended differently. He blatantly broke the rules and should’ve been disqualified, and maybe with his clear inability to follow guidelines he should take up a sport with less ‘rules’ and ‘respect’. Perhaps Ultimate Frisbee.
