10 Most Badass Horror Movie Survivors

9. Seth Gecko - From Dusk Till Dawn

Up until Robert Rodriguez's From Dusk till Dawn, George Clooney was best known as heartthrob Dr. Doug Ross in medical drama ER. But with that 1996 movie, Clooney showed a completely different side of himself to audiences - a side that oozed cool charisma.

Would From Dusk till Dawn be classed as a full-on horror movie? That's mildly debatable, but the crux of the matter is that this is a film that concludes with a big ol' showdown with a bar full of bloodsucking vampires!

Whereas certain survivors of horror movies go on to stick around for what becomes spun into a long-standing franchise, Clooney's Seth Gecko did more than enough to warrant an entry on this list purely based on his antics in just one film.

Striking up a relationship with Harvey Keitel's failing man of the cloth and his family, Seth ends up taking down a whole host of vamps in spectacular fashion - including even having to take out his own brother Richie, as played by Quentin Tarantino.

From Dusk till Dawn would indeed become a three-movie franchise of its own - not to mention a later TV series - yet nothing and nobody associated with the property has ever been anywhere near as badass as Seth Gecko.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic.
