10 Most Badass James Bond Villain Lairs

8. Drax's Space Station (Moonraker, 1979)

Hugo Drax’s hideout has a distinct advantage over the lairs of other, lesser villains in that it sits far beyond the reach of your average interloper. In fact, it’s nestled safely in a location featured only once in the entire James Bond saga - outer space.

With the 1977 success of Star Wars generating massive public interest in the interstellar, 007’s producers saw their chance to send Bond where no man had gone before; at least, no man except Hugo Drax’s handpicked crew of genetic supermen (and women).

For it’s on this orbital space station that Drax and his models of genetic perfection sit while calmly waiting for Earth to recover from the lethal nerve gas he’ll soon disperse. All aboard would have a birds eye view of the action as Earth’s population is wiped out, before having themselves a grand old time creating a new master race for good old Drax to rule over.

It’s an utterly mad plot for a completely deranged villain, and Drax’s lofty lair, with its role as a window seat overlooking worldwide slaughter, more than befits the grandiosity of his scheme. Impenetrable and largely unreachable to all but Her Majesty’s finest, Drax has a hideout wholly unmatched by his peers in terms of location.
