In the most creative scene of the movie, Washington's Robert McCall walks unarmed into a room of tough Russian mobsters. He tries to reason with them before they laugh and threaten him. On his way out, McCall turns back and mutters "16 seconds" before starting his stopwatch.
The sequence plays out more like a scene from BBC's Sherlock. McCall analyses the room, every enemy, gun and pointy object he could use to his advantage. The mobsters did not stand a chance.
