8. The Star Wars Holiday Special (Sort Of)

Memento Ending
CBS

Fans like to gloss over the Star Wars Holiday special.

George Lucas likes to gloss over the holiday special, too, but it should be acknowledged as a reminder that even the creator of the whole universe can make some dreadfully bad decisions long before he had the idea for intergalactic trade debates. Even stranger, though fans like to brush it off, they still incorporate it into their own fiction, as "Life Day" is indeed mentioned in The Mandalorian.

The Star Wars Holiday Special can and should be viewed in its entirety, and it's not hard to pirate (preferably with a Rifftrax for purchase), though Lucas wants it to be.

Lucas did, however, relent and allow a small portion of the special to be released. The segment featuring an early story for Boba Fett. It can be found on the Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back Blu-ray.

If you highlight "Boba Fett Prototype Costume" and press right, the rough cartoon can be found. The animation is poor, but it does what it clearly was intended to do: drum up interest for the character.

Kenny Hedges is carbon-based. So I suppose a simple top 5 in no order will do: Halloween, Crimes and Misdemeanors, L.A. Confidential, Billy Liar, Blow Out He has his own website - thefilmreal.com - and is always looking for new writers with differing views to broaden the discussion.
