10 Most Bizarre DVD Easter Eggs

2. Spider-Man 2

Until 2008, when Iron Man officially launched the MCU, Spider-Man 2 was the gold standard for comic book movies. Some critics likened it to The Empire Strikes Back, improving on the original and setting the stage for a climactic third film.

Spider-Man 2 still holds up as a very lovingly crafted comic book movie, but it's not often hailed with the same reverence it once was. And the film that ultimately finished off the trilogy was severely compromised due to a fundamental disagreement between the studio and director Sam Raimi.

Those who know Sam Raimi's work pre-Spider-Man were delighted to see a lot of same shots, actors and splatter movie atmosphere he brought to Evil Dead and Darkman (Westlake's beating in that film is nearly shot-for-shot). He also brought with him the same frat boy humour on set, regularly pulling pranks.

One of the better pranks is thankfully captured on the DVD. Press up when highlighted on "Making the Amazing" on disc two.

While shooting, Raimi apparently brought Willem Dafoe, Green Goblin from the first film, to perform one of Doctor Octopus' monologues in front of actor Alfred Molina.

It's all in good fun, and Molina and the crew are having a blast, but it's also a little revealing: As great as Molina is, there's something absolutely enticing about Dafoe's raspy growl and cackle taking over the role

Kenny Hedges is carbon-based. So I suppose a simple top 5 in no order will do: Halloween, Crimes and Misdemeanors, L.A. Confidential, Billy Liar, Blow Out He has his own website - thefilmreal.com - and is always looking for new writers with differing views to broaden the discussion.
