10 Most Bizarre Horror Stereotypes
4. The Animal Senses
As most cat owners will attest to, the chances of your feline reacting to an evil presence is extremely minimal. Largely, of course, because cats themselves are often such nefarious little pricks.
Unless your furball wants a spooky sort to feed it, pet it or clean up its sh*t, that cat is not making a peep - let alone the eerie shrieks and hisses seen in so many horror offerings over the years.
In some ways, the same can be said about dogs, too. The only difference here, is that your pooch usually tends to have a softer demeanour to them that is based around excited dopiness and affection. Either way, much like cats, it seems a little odd that horror has us believing that our beloved household pets have a radar for anything evil, spooky, ghoulish or sinister.
Hell, if A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 is to believed, our pets can even enter our dreams to take down any bogeymen that are causing us night terrors. Then again, Elm Street 4 had the pet in question - Roland Kincaid's dog Jason - resurrect Freddy Krueger by literally p**sing fire.
