10 Most Bizarre Horror Stereotypes

It's one thing for Marion Crane to take a shower during Psycho, for she had no inkling whatsoever that the hotel she was staying at was run by a creepy fella who played dress-up as his deceased mother while keeping ma's rotted corpse in the basement.

Away from Psycho and a few choice others, though, and there are some utterly ridiculous decisions made to bathe or shower at the most stupid of times in the most ludicrous of situations across horror.

One prime example is 1980's Death Ship. That picture finds a group stranded at sea, only to come across a totally empty giant freighter that's as eerie as one could ever possibly imagine - not least because the hulking vessel is a Nazi ship that is possessed by the mindset of Adolf Hitler and his followers.

So what's the best thing to do here? Why, for one bonehead character, the call is made to take a shower; a shower that soon starts to fill up with a gratuitous amount of blood.

Another classic example of this is 1986's Slaughter High. As a bunch of friends find themselves killed off in acid-driven ways at a faux high school reunion, foolish Shirley decides to stop and take a bath when stumbling across a disused school bathroom.

From there, there's not one ounce of sympathy for this character when her bath water is revealed to actually be acid. Idiot.
