10 Most Brutal Deaths In Harry Potter Movies

7. Torched By A Dragon (Bogrod)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Bogrod death
Warner Bros.

Another character who suffered a fiery death, Bogrod, unlike Goyle, did not deserve to meet his maker in the way that he did, but it was nonetheless an extremely painful way for him to exit life.

This one can actually be pinned on Harry, Ron and Hermione, because it was the meddlesome trio who put Bogrod under the influence of the Imperius Curse and forced him to help them break into Gringotts Bank undetected.

For the most part, this plan went swimmingly, but when the three were discovered, they lost control of Bogrod in all the commotion. However, the goblin was still confused by the effects of the curse, causing him to stumble out in front of the bank's security dragon, which burned him alive with a huge jet of fire.

While this scene is mostly played for laughs (Ron reacts to Bogrod's death by quipping "that's unfortunate"), if you ignore that tone and focus on what's actually happening, Bogrod gets straight-up torched like a goddamn marshmallow. It's pretty grisly stuff, especially considering that he was an innocent victim caught in a bad situation.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
